Why we are required to migrate to .gov HB0444

[Apr] Phase 1: Email Aliases

  • Add a .gov alias to primary emails. 2025-03-26
  • Add a .gov alias to any aliases. 2025-03-26
  • Set the primary .gov alias so it can be sent from by default. 2025-04-12

[May] Phase 2: Groups

  • Give all groups .gov alises and notify owners. 2025-05-15
  • Grant send-as group for users where already set. 2025-05-16
  • Notify SSO OAuth/SAML providers of pending changes. 2025-05-01

[Jun] Phase 3: Domain Update

  • Send citywide email about the migration. 2025-06-13
  • Update all accounts to be .gov 2025-06-14
  • Update groups to be .gov 2025-06-14
  • Update Single Sign On providers 2025-06-14
